Innovating to End the HIV Epidemic:
Empowering Communities, Expanding Partnerships, Implementing Interventions

Welcome to the Hybrid 2024 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment

Dear Colleague:

On behalf of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau, I look forward to your participation at the 2024 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment on August 20-23, 2024.  The theme for this year’s National Conference is “Innovating to End the HIV Epidemic: Empowering Communities, Expanding Partnerships, Implementing Interventions.”

We are thrilled that, for the first time in years, we will be able to see each other in person. The Conference will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC, with opportunities for virtual participation as well – combining the value of in-person interaction with the breadth and depth of participation that a hybrid model makes possible.

HRSA’s Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program is now in its fourth decade, and we are excited to have the opportunity to come together as a community, as we work to end the HIV epidemic in the United States. As many of you know, HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau hosts the National Conference every two years to deliver program and policy updates, share innovative HIV interventions, and provide training and technical assistance. This biennial event provides a forum to share best practices and innovative strategies that empower participants and their communities to continue implementing a national response to reduce HIV-related health disparities and end the HIV epidemic in the United States. Participants include Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program recipients and subrecipients; federal, national, state, and local partners and organizations; health care and service delivery providers; and people with HIV.

I am especially looking forward to highlighting the incredible work of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program at the National Conference this year, including all of our recipients and partners. HRSA is also focused on the remarkable progress we continue to make with the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative, an ongoing effort to reduce the number of new HIV infections in the United States by 90 percent. To achieve this goal, we must expand the use of innovative interventions our recipients continue to develop; increase our collaboration and partnerships with organizations and community leaders who are not directly part of the public health community; meet people where they are to reduce HIV health-related disparities; and ensure people with HIV and their communities are involved in the planning, development, and implementation of HIV care and treatment strategies.

I hope your participation in the 2024 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment will be rewarding and provide a productive exchange of valuable knowledge and information. Thank you for your commitment to providing high quality, comprehensive care and treatment to people with HIV and your efforts to end the HIV epidemic in the United States.

Sincerely,

Laura Cheever, M.D., Sc.M.
