Conference Theme
Building on 35 Years of CARE: Strengthening our Foundation and Advancing Access to End the HIV Epidemic
Welcome Letter
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau, I look forward to your participation at the 2026 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment on August 4-7, 2026. The theme for the 2026 National Conference is “Building on 35 Years of CARE: Strengthening our Foundation and Advancing Access to End the HIV Epidemic.”
The 2026 National Conference will once again bring together the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) and Ending the HIV Epidemic community both in-person and virtually, with the conference being held at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.
As many of you know, HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau hosts the National Conference to deliver program and implementation updates, share HIV care and treatment best practices, and provide training and technical assistance. This biennial event provides a forum to highlight the incredible work of RWHAP recipients, provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and disseminate focused interventions to participants to continue implementing a national response to end the HIV epidemic in the United States. Participants include RWHAP recipients and subrecipients; federal, national, state, and local partner organizations; health care and service delivery providers; and people with HIV.
This year’s conference theme is especially meaningful as it pays tribute to a critical milestone, the 35th anniversary of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act, known as the CARE Act, which was commemorated on August 18, 2025. Passed in 1990, the CARE Act has been vital in providing a comprehensive system of care and support to now more than 570,000 people with HIV annually and advancing access to HIV care to end the HIV epidemic.
I am especially looking forward to spotlighting Ryan White Program 2030 (RWP 2030), which was announced in early 2024. Building off the RWHAP foundation and the innovative, low-barrier strategies employed in the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative, the RWP 2030 framework is designed to sustain high-quality care and treatment for people receiving services through the RWHAP while expanding efforts to identify and engage people with HIV who are undiagnosed or out of care.
I hope your participation in the 2026 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment will result in shared best practices and strengthened collaborations. Thank you for your commitment to providing high quality, comprehensive care and treatment services to people with HIV and for your efforts to end the HIV epidemic in the United States.
Sincerely,
Heather Hauck, MSW, LICSW
Associate Administrator for the HIV/AIDS Bureau
